Most repeated questions in past papers
Written by Dr. Hamza Farooq (Physics), Dr. Ayesha Nadeem (Chemistry), Sara Ahmed (English)
Some short questions keep coming back. For each subject below we counted which questions appeared in more than one exam, and in which years.
How we counted
- We read the past papers on this site and looked at the short questions in the subjective part, the two mark and similar questions.
- Questions with the same wording, or almost the same wording, were grouped as one question.
- We count exams, not repeats inside one paper. An exam is one board, one year and one session. A question that appears in both groups of the same exam counts once.
- A question is listed as repeated when it appeared in at least two different years. The lists show questions that came back in three or more exams first, then questions that came back twice.
- Counts come from the papers we could read in full, so the real number can be higher than the number shown.
A question that appeared before is not a promise that it will appear again. Use these lists to see what boards like to ask, and still cover the whole syllabus.
