Adding a password means the PDF cannot be opened without it. The same password is used to open the file and to manage it. It does not add limits on printing or copying, only the requirement to enter the password to open the document.
A password cannot be recovered. If you forget it, no tool, including this one, can get the document back, so keep the unprotected original somewhere safe until you are sure the password is stored.
A long phrase of several words is stronger and easier to remember than a short mixed string. Store it in a password manager, and send the password by a different route than the file, for example the file by email and the password by message.
