Scenario

Meridian Ltd is a private company that manufactures furniture. It is not a small company and it is not a banking company. For the tax year 2026 to 2027, its accounting income was Rs. 40,000,000 and, after tax adjustments, its taxable income was Rs. 36,000,000.

During the year Meridian Ltd sold goods to company customers for Rs. 120,000,000. The customers were on the Active Taxpayers' List (ATL), and deducted withholding tax from the payments at the rate for sale of goods to a company. Assume that this tax is adjustable against Meridian Ltd's final tax liability.

The company also paid Rs. 2,000,000 to a software firm for services that are not specifically listed in the withholding table, and the software firm is not on the ATL.
