How to combine screenshots into one image

Sending six screenshots means the reader has to piece them together. One tall image tells the story in the order you intended.

Merge images
Whichever tool you use here, the file stays on your device. How that works

Step by step

  1. 1Take the screenshots with a little overlap so nothing falls between them.
  2. 2Crop each one to the same width and remove the status bar and tab strip.
  3. 3Stack them vertically in order and merge into one image.
  4. 4Check the joins line up and nothing private survived at the edges.

Consistent width is what makes it look right

Screenshots at different widths stack into a ragged column with gaps down the sides. Cropping them all to the same width first is what turns a pile of pictures into something that reads as one continuous image.

Crop the repeated chrome out of everything except the first. Six copies of the same status bar and address bar running down your image is visual noise, and removing them makes the content flow.

Check the edges before sending, harder than usual. A stack of six screenshots is six chances to leak a notification, a tab title or an unrelated message.

Questions

Can I join them side by side instead?

Yes, the same tool stacks horizontally as well as vertically.

Will the image be very large?

A tall stack can be. Compress it afterwards if you need to send it by email.

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No.
