Dear Bilal,

I was so pleased to hear that you are coming to visit. It has been far too long since we last met, and I cannot wait to show you around my city.

I will be free on the weekend of the 12th and 13th, so could you come then? If it suits you, I can meet you at the station on Friday evening. You are very welcome to stay with us, as we have a spare room.

I thought we could spend Saturday in the old town and see the fort, and then have dinner at a small restaurant that I know. Do tell me if there is anything special you would like to see, and I will try to plan it. It will be wonderful to catch up on all your news. Remember to bring a warm jacket, because the evenings can be cool by then.

Please let me know your train time as soon as you can.

Best wishes,

Hassan

Why it works

  • An informal letter uses a friendly opening, contractions are fine, and the closing is Best wishes or Love.
  • The three bullet points are covered clearly: dates, ideas for activities, and a question.
  • The language is warm and natural, but still correct.
